Q: Is shipping free?
A: Yes. All PBE orders ship free. The Hybrid includes free delivery (with all import duties and taxes included) to Ireland, the UK, Europe, Canada, the USA, New Zealand and Australia. Our other buggies and scooters (The Little 1, Eagle 1, Eagle 2 and Hawk) include free delivery throughout the island of Ireland only.
Q: How long will my order take to arrive?
A: The current lead time on The Hybrid is approximately 8–12 weeks from order to delivery. Each unit is built and shipped to order, and we keep you updated by email along the way.
Q: What is the warranty on PBE products?
A: For our electric buggies and scooters we provide a 2‑year warranty on the Lithium battery and a 1‑year warranty on all other buggy/scooter components. This commercial warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, including the minimum 2‑year legal guarantee for consumers in the EU and UK.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: You can pay using major debit/credit cards, Revolut Pay and bank transfer at checkout.
Q: How far will The Hybrid go on one charge?
A: Between 20–35 km (12–22 miles) per charge, depending on terrain, rider weight and how much climbing is involved. In round terms, the 14 Ah battery is rated for 27 holes and the 20 Ah battery for 36 holes. Those hole figures are specified for riding in stand-on mode, not for walking behind it.
Q: Will it do 18 holes with me riding on it?
A: Yes, and this is the question we are asked most. The 27 holes on the 14 Ah battery and 36 holes on the 20 Ah battery are specified for riding in stand-on mode, with your bag on board. Eighteen holes leaves a healthy margin, even on a hilly course in wet ground.
Q: How long does the battery take to charge, and can I take it out?
A: A full charge takes 6–8 hours on the supplied charger. The 48 V lithium-ion battery is rear-mounted, key-locked and fully swappable, so you can lift it out and charge it indoors.
Q: How much does it weigh?
A: The frame is 28 kg without the battery, and the battery adds 3.5 kg for 31.5 kg all in. Always remove the battery before lifting the buggy. It comes off in seconds and makes the frame considerably easier to handle.
Q: How does the braking work?
A: The Hybrid brakes regeneratively through its dual hub motors (EABS), worked by the left brake paddle. There are no mechanical brakes, pads or discs to wear out or adjust. Braking is progressive rather than instant, so allow more distance at higher speeds, on steeper ground and in the wet.
Q: Does it hold itself on a hill?
A: Yes, and it is worth knowing exactly what the hill-hold does. Once you have come to a stop and stepped off, it holds the buggy on a slope, uphill or downhill, with your bag and clubs still on board, so it stays put on the slope while you play your shot. What it will not hold is your weight on top of that, so control your speed on any gradient with the left brake paddle rather than relying on the hold while you are riding. Expect a small amount of roll as it takes effect. Once it has taken hold it keeps holding for as long as the unit stays switched on: there is no time limit. Hill-hold works only while the unit is switched on, and it is not a parking brake: park on level ground before powering down.
Q: How steep a hill can it climb?
A: The Hybrid is rated to 20°, roughly a 36% gradient. Take steep ground straight on rather than across the slope, and use the left brake paddle to control your speed on the way back down. On the occasional very steep climb or descent, we recommend switching to Trolley Mode and walking it for that stretch.
Q: What is the maximum load?
A: 120 kg (18.9 stone, 265 lb) all in, including the rider, the clubs and anything else carried on the buggy.
Q: How fast does it go?
A: Three ride modes give 5, 15 and 25 km/h, plus reverse. Trolley Mode adds a walking-pace cruise at 4 or 6 km/h for when you would rather walk it.
Q: What is included with the buggy?
A: Your 48 V battery, the charger, an umbrella holder and mount as standard, and a printed user manual.
Q: Will it fit in my car?
A: Folded, The Hybrid is just under 1 metre long (95 cm), 53 cm wide and 37 cm deep. It folds in seconds without tools. Remove the battery before lifting it in or out.
Q: Can I use it on my golf course?
A: That is your club's decision, so please check with them first. The Hybrid is CE marked and a Declaration of Conformity is available on request. It is intended for use on golf courses and private land, not on public roads.
